A local author, Kevin Bourke, is undertaking research into the Army camp which was located on Nairnville Park from about 1942 until the end of the war. The camp housed a light anti-aircraft operation, but was also base for a group of servicemen involved in radio interception work. The interception work was carried out in a farm house somewhere in the Johnsonville area.
He is interested in talking to anyone who has any information about the camp or the interception site. People with information could include ex-servicemen, or their families, or even people who grew up in the vicinity.
Information on the subject has been collected from declassified documents now in the public domain held in British and Australian archives.
If you can help, or perhaps know someone who may have some information, the author, Kevin Bourke can be contacted on 4796351
