Daily procedures
  • Drop off and pick up procedures
Parents make verbal contact with a staff member and sign their children out of NOSCAR.
Staff do not release a child to a person who is not identified on the enrolment form.
If an unauthorised person comes to collect the child, parents are contacted for authorisation.

  • If the child is going to be absent
Parents must leave a message on the answer phone for each session their child will not be attending.

  • If the child does not arrive at NOSCAR
A roll is taken at the start of each session and all unexplained absences are promptly followed up.
There are clear procedures for contacting parents and the identified contacts if children are not accounted for.

Safety

  • Looking after the medical needs of the children
The supervisor sends out a form each year to all parents requesting information on children's medical conditions.
The medical information is listed and a copy kept with the First Aid Kit.
Staff members will refer to a signed medication consent form when administering medication.
  • Sun safety
Staff members will ensure that children wear hats whenever they are outdoors in the summer months.
NOSCAR will have a supply of sunscreen available for the children to use.
  • Preparation for a major emergency
How are the children prepared to cope with a major emergency during a NOSCAR session?
The first priority is the safety of children and staff. Emergency practices are held each term.
First aid equipment and water are held at NOSCAR and shelter will be coordinated by the Supervisor.
